India has an educational divide. While students may have the opportunity to go to school, that does not mean they will be able to get a holistic education. For students from underserved communities, barriers to participation include access to potential resources, personal and financial circumstances, and a curriculum that is extremely focused on academic rigor in the classroom. That is, students are not getting the technical skills and life experiences that accompany extracurricular activities or exemplary teaching practices. The learners thus end up in an uneven playing field that insures less than optimal potential for their future.
This is the problem that Paathshala+ was founded to solve. Our project was launched in July 2025 with the premise that every student has the right to grow into a well-rounded human being. We made the decision to create an opportunity, not only to supplement a student's education, but also to create opportunity through increased exposure, (varied) development of skills through exposure, and thus build the foundations for young people empowered to be confident, resourceful, and innovative in an endlessly evolving world.
